My Story

Hi, my name is Hesty Permata Putri. I’m just 20 years old. I’m bussy at college. Maybe if I have enough time, I swim third time a week. I always come to campus ontime, If I didn’t come on time to campus, I wouldn’t get pass my absen. I’m always go to campus with my friend. She is my best friend. Her name’s Lia . I’m always focus on ride my friends motorcycle. If I had driver carefully, I wouldn’t haven’t got accident. My favourite lesson is accounting. If I have like English, I learn English six time in week. But in my campus, every lesson are very complicated. I must be a diligent student. If I were a diligent student, my parents would have very proud of me. I have many friends they really understand me and so do I. If  I had not smart at intercourse, I wouldn’t have had many friends.

            I’m the first child of three siblings. My sister’s name’s Zhalsa Wulandari and my brother name’s Aldo Brahmantyo. My brother and sister has lived in Palembang. I meet them at Idul Fitri, maybe if I live in Palembang I can meet them everyday. My sister has an independent character. But my brother has a spolled nature. My sister hobbies are reading a book and my brother hobbies are playing football and playing Playstation. If she red a book, she would spend her time for it. And my brother he’s often injured. If he had used his soccer shoes when he plays soccer, he wouldn’t be injured. My brother and my sister if they cook some food, I will be the first one taste it. My sister has a hardworking nature. I trust if she was work harder every tim, she would get some good job in her future and my brother, he has self confidence. I belive that if he had a self confidence he would had been a succesfull people.

            I have many hobbies in my live. One of kind of my hobby’s shopping. But I don’t have much money. If I have much money, I will buy a car for my family. I’m just loving to come to every party. Friends party or etc. I would be there if my friend/family injured me to their party. I really enjoy of my life. I have many favourite hobbies. I have lovely friends and family. I wouldn’t have enjoyed my life, if I hadn’t been had lovely family and friends. I’m always studyes for every courses. I’m take a accounting major. If I don’t study then I will not have a good sign at my report cards. But, if I studied hard. I would passed my every single test in campus. I’m also not ashamed my friends if I don’t understand the lessons taught by the lecture. Because, if I asked them, they would have helped me.

            My friends name Kevin Renaldo is really love Liverpool football club. If he life in Liverpool, he will visit anfield stadium. His favourite player is Phillipe Coutinho. If he met Coutinho, he would get a photo with Coutinho. He also wuite reat and get some skill in playing futsal. He wouldn’t have got an injury, if he had used foot protector when he plays futsal and now he works on Grab office. If I wear him, I would feel very happy he’s workaholic and very work harder. If he doesn’t get the target, he get suspend by this office. The schedule also is very very complicated. If I had becomed him, I might been crazy because that schedule.

            My life is very perfect. I have two parents just like the other people. I have my best couple on my parents. My mother loves me. My father really cares of me. My father is also work harder people. He never late to comes to his office. If he comes late to this office, the he will get tired from his boss. He’s also drive the car carefully. If he didn’t drive car carefully, he would get an accident. He has a fit body. He really loves to get or play some sports. If he hadn’t done some sport he hasn’t been had a fit body. There’s another thing with my mother. She’s a house wife. She’s really good on cook some food. If I live with them in Palembang, I will eat my mother’s cook every day. I really miss her when I was for from her. I would hug her, if I got close to her. She also never tired of taking care of her home work. If I had becomed her, I might have been tired of that homework.

MODALS

Modals adalah jenis auxiliary verb yang digunakan untuk mengekpresikan kemampuan, kemungkinan, izin, larangan dan keharusan. Berikut adalah Fungsi, Perbedaan dan Contohnya.

1.      Can – Could – Be able to

ü  Can

Function: Digunakan untuk menyatakan kemampuan melakukan sesuatu di masa sekarang (present) dan sebagai pengganti be able to. Contoh : I can close the window, I can speak Chinese

meminta izin. Example : Can I go out until past midnight?

permohonan. Example : Can you pass me the salt and pepper?

penawaran. Example : Can  I help you? , I can lend you some money if you want.

ü  Could

Function: Digunakan Untuk Menyatakan ability (kemampuan) dimasa lalu (Past)

Example: You could run faster than me two years ago.
Function: Modal verb ini dapat digunakan untuk meminta izin (permission) untuk melakukan sesuatu dimasa lalu (past) atau masa depan (future).

Example: Could I use your computer to print and scan?

ü  Be able to

Function: Digunakan Untuk Menyatakan ability (kemampuan). Merupakan kata kerja “Be” yang ditambahkan kata sifat “able” dan diikuti oleh kata kerja bentuk “to”

Example: He is able to find any street in London

Example: They are able to make bags from paper card

Can: digunakan untuk ability,Possibility,Informal/Polite request and Permission

Could: digunakan untuk Polite Request, Certainly(50%), suggestion

Be able to: digunakan untuk menyatakan kemampuan yang lebih spesifik

2.      May – Might

ü  May

Function: menyatakan kemungkinan.

Example: She may not come tonight, I may go to the doctor with mom.

Function: meminta izin untuk melakukan sesuatu di masa sekarang. Example: May I go now?, May I take your chair?

ü  Might

Function: untuk menyatakan kemungkinan tapi lebih kecil kemungkinan terjadinya dibandingkan “may“.

Example: She might be in her room, Dad might come to my birthday party.

Example: Where are they? They might be at the park.

Difference :

May: Polite request, Formal Permission, Certainly(less than 50%)

Might: Certainly(less than 50%)

3.      Must [has/have to] – had to

ü  Must

Function: menyatakan keharusan atau kewajiban.

Example: I must go buy some groceries, I must go home now.

Function: kemungkinan (lebih kuat dari “may”).

Example: You must be exhausted after driving for 8 hours straight.

Function: Saran/rekomendasi.

Example: You must try Genki Sushi in Shibuya

ü  Has/Have to

Function: digunakan untuk mengekspresikan kewajiban yang kuat karena ada campur tangan dari pihak luar yang membuat adanya kewajiban tersebut.

Example: I have to get up early every day.

Example: He has to write with a pencil.

ü  Had to 

Function: Untuk menyatakan keharusan di masa lampau

Example: I had to go to work

Example: I had to go to School

Difference:

Must: Tingkat kepastian sebesar 95%

Has/have to: Untuk menyatakan keharusan di masa sekarang.

Had to:  Untuk menyatakan keharusan di masa lampau

4.      Shall – Should – Ought To

ü  Shall

Function: Berfungsi untuk memberikan saran (biasa dipakai orang pertama) .

Example: Shall I open the door?

Function: Digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu rencana.

Example: I shall to next you tonight

ü  Should

Function: Berfungsi untuk memberikan saran.

Example: You should marry him.

Function: untuk memberikan kewajiban.

Example: You should take a shower before going to work.

ü  Ought To

Function: Digunakan untuk memberikan saran

Example: You ought to take the medicine, you ought to apologize to her.

Function: Untuk memberikan saran dan masukan

Example: You ought to drive more carefully

Difference: Shall untuk memberikan sebuah nasihat atau saran. Sedangkan  shoul dan ought to lebih kuat dalam memberikan nasihat.

5.      Will – Would – Be going to

ü  Will

Function: menyatakan harapan, permohonan, permintaan, perintah agak kurang sopan dibandingan dengan would.

Example: Will you pick me up?, Will you marry me?

Function: Untuk memberikan prediksi dan asumsi.

Example: It will rain tomorrow, she will pass the final exam.

Function: Menyatakan sebuah janji.

Example: I will stop buying expensive stuff.

Function: Untuk memberikan keputusan mendadak.

Example:  I will open the door, I think I will have lunch now.

ü  Would

Function: sama dengan will tapi lebih sopan daripada will menyatakan pengandaian.

Example:  If I had much money, I would buy a Porsche.

Function: Untuk menyatakan suatu rencana dimasa lampau.

Example: I would sleep last night, but it was too noisy.

ü  Be going to

Function: Mengungkapkan gagasan bahwa seseorang bermaksud untuk melakukan sesuatu dimasa depan. Tidak masalah apakah rencana itu realistis atau tidak.

Example: I'm going to be an actor when I grow up.

Example: They are going to drive all the way to Alaska.

Difference:

Be going to: digunakan untuk membicarakan rencana dan keputusan yang sudah diutuskan/dibuat sebelumnya.Will: Digunakan untuk membicarakan keputusan yang dibuat secara instant/mendadak/spontan. Would: untuk menyatakan permintaan yang sopan, dan pilihan.
